Practical tool

Will that organizer fit?

Compare the clear space you measured with a product's outside dimensions. Use the same unit for every number. This calculation is a first check, not a replacement for a physical fit test.

Clear space or cabinet opening

Measure the narrowest usable opening, allowing for hinges, pipes, trim, and other obstructions.

Organizer outside dimensions

Use the maker's full dimensions, including feet, handles, rails, or a lid where relevant.

What the numbers cannot check

  • Whether a rigid product can pass through a narrower door opening even if it fits the space behind it.
  • Whether a pull-out drawer has room to extend or a lid has room to open.
  • Whether a shelf can support the filled weight or fixings suit your wall.
  • Whether bathroom moisture, heat, or cleaning products suit the material.

Measure twice, check the manufacturer's instructions, and leave the access you need to use the space comfortably.
