Small Cozy Home publishes guides to seasonal decorating and cozy styling: porches and front doors, tables and centrepieces, mantels and windows, seasonal crafts, and the colour, lighting and textiles that go with each time of year. It is written and published by Mubashar Shahzad.
That is a real name rather than a house byline, but it is not a claim of professional qualification. These are guides written for people decorating their own homes, not the record of a designer's practice, and nothing here should be read as a trade credential.
What you will not find here
Storage systems, decluttering routines and small-space floor plans are deliberately out of scope. Guides that belonged to that subject were withdrawn in October 2026 rather than kept as thin variations of someone else's. What remains is about how a room looks and feels through the seasons.
How a guide is written
Each guide is written for a single question and edited to answer it in the opening lines, before any background. Where a measurement, spacing, quantity or timing is given, it is there because it changes the result — a wreath diameter against a door width, the number of stems that fills a bowl, the height a mantel garland needs to clear a firebox. Guides are structured around their own subject rather than a shared template, so two articles on this site should not read like the same article with different nouns.
A first-hand project, price, review or quotation needs a traceable source before it is presented as one. Invented personal experience and invented qualifications are not supplied here. Earlier in this site's history a large batch of drafts was generated in bulk; those drafts are held back unpublished rather than shown to readers, and the published guides have been rewritten.
Publication dates are the dates stored with each guide. Where a guide has been rewritten, an updated date is shown alongside the original.
What the photographs show
The current guides use stock photographs for illustration. A stock photograph does not show work completed by this publication, and it may convey a general atmosphere rather than every detail of the arrangement described in the text. Hosting a copy on this site does not make it an original photograph. Source and licence links accompany photo credits where they are available.
Using a guide in your own home
Measure the door, the shelf, the table or the wall before buying anything, and check the product's own dimensions rather than trusting a photograph. Fixings, lease terms, climates and budgets vary. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and load limits, use battery lights where a real flame would be unwise, and ask a qualified installer when the wall construction or fixing method is uncertain.
Funding and corrections
This site carries advertising through Google AdSense, and some product links earn a commission, with a disclosure shown near those recommendations. No advertiser pays for coverage and no mention is for sale. The disclosure and privacy policy set out the detail, including the cookies advertising sets and how to opt out of personalised ads.
Send a correction, an ownership question or an image-credit concern through the contact page, including the relevant address and anything that helps explain the issue. Corrections are dealt with before anything else.
